PSA: Change your vacuum filters
It’s spring time! Your vacuum has been working hard all winter and chances are, with the pollen and spring clean season coming up, it will need all the power it can get.
Great way to ensure your vacuum is working the way it’s creators intended is to make sure that the filter is clean. A clogged filter will restrict air flow and make the machine less effective in picking up dust and dirt.
Some filters (like HEPA for example) even remove particles like dust, allergens and mold spores from the air so there’s even more incentive to keeping your filter at top shape. What’s worse: if a filter is clogged it actually starts working against to what it’s supposed to do, releasing pollutants trapped to it’s surface right back into the air you breathe.
So, let’s try to keep the filters clean. It’s recommended to change the filter at least once a year. Other times, just check on it and make sure it’s clear.
